1981 Murray Baja:

You might wonder what the hell this one is doing here!  Remember back to 1981.  The only "mountain bikes" were converted cruisers and a handful of custom made bikes costing thousands of dollars.  Murray was able to jump ahead of many of the manufacturers, like Schwinn,  that thought mountain bikes would quickly disappear.  For many people, this bike served as their introduction to off-road riding.  "Mom, can I PLEASE have a Murray Baja, PLEEEEEASE"

Sweet brake levers.

Suntour "Spirt" front derailleur, gold "bash" guard

Gold "pie plate", single speed drop outs!!

Frame gusset (probably needed), nice cable guides
