1996 Salsa El Kaboing:

This has been a pretty tough bike to find out about.  Looks like a pretty standard Amp-style rear that was commonly used among some of the smaller bike makers.  I can't find any catalog or magazine information.  I've contacted Salsa, Chumba Wumba (maker of the rear end) and Soulcraft and have not been able to get very clear info.  From what I have been able to discern so far: Salsa made the front triangles in Petaluma, Chumba Wumba made the rear ends (and possibly Titus later).  They were made starting in 1994 and were set up for the IRD Widget brake since there was no cantilever stop.  When V brakes came out in 1996 it eliminated this particular problem.  Not sure what year this bike was made but it appears to have been built around 1996 by the parts package that was installed.  If you have any more info on this bike, please let us know.
