Mountain Goat Cycles

I had always appreciated the style of the vintage Schwinn balloon tire bikes.  They had nice flowing lines that are lacking in nearly every new bike on the market.  A curved tube might be a couple of grams heavier that a straight tube and most product manages would sell their soul for a half pound weight reduction. For those who still value style, enter the Mountain Goat Fat-tired Klunker Replica (F-K-R).

The F-K-R can be ordered with 26" or 29" wheels.  An eccentric bottom bracket can be added for the single speed crowd.  Disc brake mounts are standard while cantilever mounts are optional.  Standard colors are Team Green, Team Orange, Night Blue and Dirt Brown.  Other colors as well as classic AirArt paints are options. 

Keep in mind that each frame size will have a slightly different appearance.  The recommended paint job is the classic Schwinn Ram's Horn paint (although we prefer to call it Goat Head!).

 

Geometry

The F-K-R frame size is measured from the center of the bottom bracket to the top of the top tube where it intersects the seat tube.  The curved top tube will reduce stand-over height on these frames.  All measurements are based on a 80mm suspension fork.  For custom geometry, check out the custom sizing page.
