Titanium

Most of the early mountain bikes were made from steel but bike makers were always looking for alternate materials including titanium, aluminum and carbon fiber.  Titanium has a lot of desirable properties including strength-to-weight ratio and resistance to corrosion.  The downsides to Ti included raw materials costs and the extra steps that are required while building the frames.  It is a balance between costs and benefits.

If the cost benefit analysis works for you, we can build a Whiskeytown Racer or Route 29 in titanium.  Choose from a natural finish or from the entire menu of custom Mountain Goat paints from AirArt.
