Mountain Goat Cycles - Options

Frames

The standard Goat frames are TIG welded steel from various quality manufacturers.  We also offer Reynolds 853 as a $150 up-charge.  Fillet brazing can be substituted for an additional $500.  Disc brake mounts are standard on our frames while V brake mounts are a $75 option.  Matching rigid forks and stems can be made to order and the price will vary depending on the specs.  On single speed frames, Paragon sliders are the preferred option but we also offer the Phil Wood eccentric bottom bracket.  Up-charge on steel frames will run $150 for either.

Components

When you designing your dream bike, one of the joys is picking each individual component.  We can help you decide which components best meet your needs.  At Mountain Goat, we have OEM accounts with Thomson, Industry 9, Fox, Shimano and SRAM.  The best names in the industry.

Paint

Stellar paintwork has always been associated with Mountain Goats.  The team green/orange, bamboo, California Yuppie, Dinoflage.....the list goes on and on.  Russ Pickett, of AirArt, was the original Mountain Goat painter and is still painting for us today.  Russ still uses many of the same paint templates that he used over 20 years ago.  Choose from one of the classic paint schemes or design your own.  To give you some ideas, check out the vintage catalog pages below.
